Mantis has announced plans to expand its environmentally conscious approach globally.
The group sees the emergence of a new type of travel driven by environmentally conscious travellers who care deeply about the planet. “We foresee more families travelling together for longer and less frequent holidays,” said Mantis in a statement.
Over the past few months the brand has acquired the following eco-lodges: Feline Fields by Mantis in Botswana; Mantis Olo Be Lodge in Madagascar; and Trade Winds Hotel by Mantis in South Africa. The group has also announced plans for an innovative eco-lodge in South Africa, an eco-resort in Bahrain and another eco-lodge in the Caribbean, adding around 340 rooms by the end of 2021.
“Mantis and Accor have been partners for over two years now. With the eco-credentials of Mantis and the might of one of the largest hotel groups in the world, Accor, we want to redefine eco-tourism. As we emerge from this crisis, travellers will be craving health-enhancing experiences, restorative immersions in nature, and remote escapes for quality time away with their nearest and dearest,” said Mantis Chairman, Adrian Gardiner.
There is also an opportunity for independently owned eco-lodges and boutique hotels to align with larger hotel groups and benefit from these partnerships.
“We are one of the only international hospitality brands in the boutique eco-space, with the ability to offer a global distribution and a loyalty platform. Partnering with a hotel operator like Mantis ensures sustainable market entry into a very new hospitality industry,” said Gardiner.
