After having been held for 14 consecutive years in Bangkok, TTM+ moved north to Chiang Mai in 2016 and was staged at the impressive Chiang Mai International Exhibition and Convention Centre (CMECC). The move shows how Thailand’s northern region is becoming vital to tourism by acting as a gateway to other ASEAN nations, such as Cambodia, Lao PDR., Myanmar and Vietnam.
The hundreds of representatives from Thailand’s hotel, hospitality, spa and travel industry were joined by H.E. Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul, Thailand’s Minister of Tourism and Sports, Yuthasak Supasorn, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), as well as senior tourism executives of Greater Mekong Sub-Region (Cambodia, Lao PDR., Myanmar, Vietnam and Thailand – or CLMVT). They were all on hand to answer visitors’ questions and to revel in the lively cultural atmosphere.
H.E. Kobkarn and senior tourism executives from Thailand happily wandered around TTM+ 2016 to meet with representatives from the travel industry and enjoy the lively business atmosphere.
There were hundreds of stalls and booths at TTM+ 2016 promoting a wide range of services and destinations. Visitors were treated to exciting performances ever-present Siamese smiles.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) was on hand at TTM+ 2016 to showcase its latest campaigns as well as the kingdom’s many destinations, award-winning attractions and Hidden Gems that are waiting to be discovered by tourists.
