ARCHITECTURE
AN UPHILL TASK
The former family home of owners Grace and Robert Schramm, Felissimo is set on a hill 500 meters from Amores beach, lending it one of the best views in Balneário Camboriú. As those views are the clear hero of the hotel, the owners chose a stripped down approach to luxury here.
Influenced by elements from southern Italy and Provence, the property’s wood and glass facade play a pivotal role in the architecture. The hotel finds the perfect balance between structured and unstructured natural spaces.
INTERIOR DESIGN
LAID-BACK BEACHSIDE LUX
The Diamond 08 suite epitomizes the stripped-chic luxury on display at the hotel, offering a private spa with color therapy, an ample outdoor lounge, and a bathtub on the deck. Esteemed Brazilian designer Paulo Alves combined warm native woods, sleek glass, coral, and masonry to create a refined, modern-meets-rustic simplicity.
The Bistro Felissimo is part of the modern addition to the building, with a glass-roofed gazebo by the pool. Here, aged woods and candlelight set the tone for a memorable meal.

TERENCE SCHAUFFERT REISER AND GRACE AND ROBERT SCHRAMM
Grace and Robert Schramm have always loved inviting people to their family home. What began as a small bed-&-breakfast-type set up when they lived here has turned into one of Brazil’s most understatedly extraordinary beach properties, Felissimo Exclusive Hotel. The hotel is painstakingly decorated with elements inspired by their travels. Having no experience in hospitality, the couple enlisted the help of Terence Schauffert Reiser, a retired surf pro, self-professed beach bum, and owner of the award-winning Praia Brava Kiwi bar down the road from the hotel. Together, they are setting a new path for hospitality in Balneário Camboriú—one that is authentic, heartfelt, and stripped.
