From nightly eruptions of the man-made volcano to the lions and dolphins at Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat, to the Cirque du Soleil shows and performances by puppeteer Terry Fator, there’s a ton of entertainment options for the younger crowd here.

This Fremont (“old Vegas”) hotel is equipped with a heated pool and a three-story water slide that runs through a shark tank. ‘Nuff said. Unfortunately at the moment, the “Shark Chute” is temporarily closed for maintenance, but in the meantime, there’s also an arcade, and lots of casual kid finger food like pizza, chicken nuggets, dogs and burgers at the on-site restaurant.

With huge, family-oriented suites, three pools (yes, three), and daily activities like treasure hunts and Wii tournaments, this is a great choice for a family vacay. Kids can keep busy at the game room (with pool tables and gaming consoles), mini-arcade, and craft room. It’s off-Strip, but there’s a free twice-hourly shuttle that can take everyone there in no time.

Kids and adults alike will love the 1.6-million gallon Shark Reef Aquarium that houses sharks, endangered green sea turtles, piranhas, golden crocs, moon jellyfish, and manta rays. But after the animal ogling, there’s a giant wave pool and lazy river to play in. Plus, kid-friendly performances like The Lion King and Cirque du Soleil shows, and over 20 restaurants with kid-friendly food makes this resort perfect for the whole fam.

What kid doesn’t want to stay in a medieval-style castle? The whole hotel is shaped and decorated like King Arthur’s abode, which is fun enough by itself. Throw in the Tournament of Kings jousting dinner show, tropical pool area, and a dungeon-themed arcade, and the kids probably won’t want to leave. Just don’t take ’em to, ah, the Thunder Down Under show.
