The MV Zambezi Adventurer, a transcruiser that will traverse Lake Kariba, is set to launch in 2020.
Bookings will be available for 2021, says Jane Coombes, Sales and Marketing Manager of Zambezi Cruise and Safaris.
The MV Zambezi Adventurer is 53m long and 11m wide and will have 28 cabins, all en-suite and air-conditioned with views of the lake, two swimming pools, two large air-conditioned bar-dining/lounge areas and numerous outdoor decks.
The lower deck will comprise ten standard twin-bedded cabins with two additional pullman bunks enabling each cabin to sleep up to four passengers. The mid deck will house 14 premier cabins that can either have doubled beds or twin beds. Four larger cabins, each with a private balcony, are on the top deck.
The MV Zambezi Adventurer offers a three-night cruise between Binga and Kariba, alternating direction every four to five days in peak safari season, from April to October and weekly from November to March.
It will depart at midday, allowing time for inbound and outbound travellers to arrive from destinations such as Mana Pools, Hwange, Chobe, Lusaka, Victoria Falls and Livingstone.
The cruiser then docks in either Binga or Kariba in the mid-morning on the fourth day for onward flight or road transfers.
Travellers can add a night or two in Kariba at Kariba Safari Lodge or Crowned Eagle Boutique Hotel or in Binga at Masumu River Lodge or Kulizwe Marina Lodge.
