Vietnam Airlines has partnered with Jetstar Pacific to introduce 34 code-sharing flights between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City per day.
The news means a flight will take off approximately every 30 minutes between 05:45 and 21:30.
Vietnam Airlines operates the on-the-hour flights, while the Jetstar Pacific flights leave alternately every 15-30 minutes.
Trinh Ngoc Thanh, executive vice president of Vietnam Airlines, said: “In an effort to enhance our capacity to serve customers between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam Airlines has started to operate flights at even hours with an average spacing of 30 minutes.
“This helps passengers easily remember their flying time and arrange their working schedules in a more convenient manner.”
Thanks to the effective operation at peak hours, VNA’s flights have now increased in frequency and its schedules have become more flexible so that passengers can fly shortly after arriving at the airport.
The new flight schedule has been designed to facilitate regular passengers on business trips who need to travel back and forth on the same day.
Wide-body aircraft including the Boeing 787, Boeing 777, Airbus A350, Airbus A330 will be deployed in more than 65 per cent of the flights between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, while the remaining flights will be operated by the A321.
The new generation aircraft, such as the Boeing 787 and Airbus A350, will fly during the peak hours of 10:00 to 12:00 and 14:00 to 19:00, offering extra convenience and comfort for officials and businesspeople.
