US Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly is considering placing a further ban on passengers carrying laptops on all international flights in and out of the United States.
Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly told Fox News Sunday: “There’s a real threat – numerous threats against aviation.” He explained “terrorists are obsessed with the idea of knocking down an airplane in flight, particularly if it’s a US carrier.”
The US instituted a ban in March on flights from 10 cities. The ban enforces passengers to check in laptops, tablets and other electronic devices larger than a smartphone.
