Dates for the 2021 Safari Roadshow in the UK have been announced by Kamageo, a marketing agency that promotes tourism to Africa.
The programme, which features twelve sessions in February, March and April, is in response to market needs following the impact of COVID-19.
The roadshow will host country-dedicated sessions for Zambia, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Malawi, Namibia, Tanzania, Kenya, South Africa and Mauritius.
“We were concerned that the previously popular large-scale events, like Indaba, WTM, ITB, We Are Africa and Experience Africa, simply may not have the same appeal, due to the high numbers of attendees,” said Chief Executive, Tim Henshall.
All sessions will adhere to Safari Roadshow’s previously successful format of a pre-arranged round-robin system. Exhibitor numbers at each session will be limited to eight per country, adding up to 96 exhibitors over the entire programme.
Comprehensive social distancing measures will be in place, personal protective equipment and perspex dividers will be provided and no more than 25 people will share a space at any given time.
The roadshow will visit Manchester, the Cotswolds and London. “We fully recognise that we’re asking tour operators to potentially give up six days over the 12-week period, but that will provide them with almost 100 high-quality product presentations across 10 countries,” said Henshall.
