Peniche, Portugal
The fishing town of Peniche is known as one of the best surf spots in Portugal, offering a good wave variety in almost any conditions. ‘Supertubos’ is considered one of the best beach breaks in Europe, although there are also lots of other spots around here.
Peniche Surf Camp offers transfers from Lisbon airport and is located in Casais do Baleal within walking distance or a short drive from all the waves on the Peniche peninsula. There are group or private classes for all skill levels and you’ll find more than 150 boards to choose from, in all shapes and sizes. In terms of accommodation you can book either individual apartments or shared accommodation, plus there’s a bar/restaurant on site where you can enjoy tasty meals or socialise with new friends.
Hossegor, France
Hossegor on the west coast of France is well-known for its beautiful beaches and world-class beach breaks. According to Magic Seaweed, Hossegor’s beaches “deliver exceptionally powerful, perfect peaks, often very close to shore and invariably hollow.” This part of the Atlantic coast has some of the warmest water temperatures, offering up to 4 months of surfing without a wetsuit.

Algarve, Portugal
For some fun in the sun you can’t beat the small town of Lagos on Portugal’s Algarve Coast, which is known for its beautiful beaches and buzzing nightlife. The town itself has picturesque cover with tranquil waters but head out to Sagres and the west coast and you’ll find some great surf spots for all levels. Top spots include Arrifana Beach, Praia de Alvor and Praiha Amado.
