Captain Woranate Laprabang, Acting Chief Executive Officer, THAI Smile Airways, stated that following the launch of Bangkok – Gaya – Varanasi route in early October, the feedback was very impressive. So the airline decided to expand its operation to another route to India. This launch underscores the airline’s aggressive strategy in expanding international routes while encouraging passengers from both countries to explore the new travelling experience.
On the special occasion, THAI Smile joined forces with major partners which included Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) to organise ‘Explore Your Smile, Explore Thai Taste’ event at Radisson Blu Hotel, Jaipur, India. The purpose was to raise awareness and provide updated information about the tourism and MICE market in Thailand to associated agencies both from government and private sectors, including media, travel agents and the operators of tourism business and seminar organisers in India.
Apart from business matching, the event also marked as a good opportunity to host a dinner party to thank all associated agencies that included distributors, travel agencies and the media, as well as to introduce THAI Smile Airways to be known among a wider range of audience.
THAI Smile would operate three flights a week from Bangkok to Jaipur, on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Conversely, it would operate three flights a week from Jaipur to Bangkok, on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
The inaugural flight from Bangkok to Jaipur took off on November 16, 2016 with two classes, Smile Plus (Premium Economy) and Smile Class (Economy).
The new flight would operate with A320-200 aircraft, which would offer a Premium Economy Class (12 seats) and Economy Class (150 seats) and a host of features for passengers, such as in-flight entertainment experience and specially designed Indian cuisine & beverages to passengers.

“With a commitment to becoming one of the most popular airlines in Asia, we therefore continue to expand international routes and increase frequency for flights to facilitate the passengers. The opening of Bangkok – Jaipur route is considered one of the major destinations in the strategic region of the Indian subcontinent. To follow this success, we shall introduce additional route to India, that is Lucknow – Bangkok, on December 16. We are sure that with our good reputation in terms of delivering impressive travelling experience, THAI Smile will become a leader in the Indian market in the near future, certainly,” Captain Woranate added.
