Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority has authorised the temporary closure of the Ndutu Airstrip in Tanzania due to maintenance of the airfield from November 14 until December 14.
In a statement, Coastal Aviation said while the timing was inconvenient as it fell over the same period of the Great Migration, which heads south, the airline would be working with its customers to create alternative options.
“The destination is already restricted from sale during the above dates, and existing bookings are being contacted by our reservations department to arrange a different itinerary,” read Coastal Aviation’s statement.
For existing and future bookings, Coastal Aviation is able to offer flights into Lake Manyara airfield, or to the closest airstrips in the Serengeti, such as Seronera and Serengeti South.
Passengers landing within the Serengeti Park are subject to the payment of park fees.
