Stellenbosch has been chosen by eBiking Africa as the base for one leg of its programme of e-Biking in the Cape.
It is called eBike Cape’s Big 3 Icons and each day guests will be transferred from the Waterfront to the three most iconic destinations in the area – Stellenbosch, the Table Mountain Panorama Route and Cape Point.
The R11 500 (€580) three-day small group programme, which starts in November, offers commission of up to 20% for the trade.
Technical mountain bike trails are avoided as the market is first-time e-Bike riders up to the age of 65.
“We are aiming at people who are looking to visit these icons but would like to do it as a soft adventure experience. We are making it accessible to anyone who is comfortable with the idea of getting back ono a bike. We use scenic quiet gravel roads wherever possible,” said Co-founder, Bill Schaerer.
The three-day package is hosted by a professional bike guide, with a mechanic and support vehicle. Lunch at a memorable venue is included near each icon as well as transfers, e-bikes and wet-weather gear.
e-Biking Africa was started in Gauteng, with half-day experiences near Sandton where first-time e-bike riders cycle with wild game at Groenkloof Nature Reserve off the highway to Pretoria.
