Silversea Cruises said it will upgrade its group sales program to offer better terms for travel agents.
Some of the features include price protection for 90 days after blocking space, tour conductor credits as low as one for every nine berths sold and onboard spending credits of up to $300 per suite, which are protected even if only one booked suite actually sails.
Silversea said other enhancements include expansion of the onboard spending credits to groups booked on Silversea’s three expedition ships, as well as the luxury fleet. It said the group fares will be combinable with several other promotions, including Early Booking Bonus and promotional Economy Class Air/Business Class Air rates, in addition to Venetian Society Savings, Extended Voyage Savings and Onboard Savings.
Other terms include the ability to book one group per ship, per month at the agency level.
Silversea said deposits aren’t required to create a group but a 25% deposit on individual suite assignments is due within 7 days of putting a guest name to the suite.
“With these enhancements, it’s easier than ever for agents to sell group travel with Silversea,” said Mark Conroy, Silversea’s managing director for the Americas.
Silversea said agents with existing group business in 2017 or 2018 have the option to convert to the new program and each booking within the group would then be subject to the most current applicable fare.
