San Domenico Palace Hotel has reopened its doors following its acquisition by Italian real estate expert, Statuto Luxury Hotels, last year.
The historic hotel is set to host a selection of the world’s political leaders during the upcoming G7 meeting in Taormina in May.
Under the management of Statuto Luxury Hotels, the hotel, which is celebrated for its luxurious accommodation and historical charm, will play a leading role during the summit on May 26th-27th.
The hotel houses a selection of unique meeting spaces, which will be available to the world leaders during the summit.
From the attractive Sala Due Colonne, which overlooks the Italian gardens and ancient Greek theatre, to the more intimate Main Cloister, each of the hotel’s meeting spaces will ensure privacy and security.
Formerly a 14th century Dominican monastery house, the San Domenico Palace Hotel is steeped in history and has been a premier choice for international summit meetings and events since 1896.
With many of its original structures still intact, the hotel is a rare historic jewel, which strives to deliver the same peace and tranquillity that was bestowed upon it during its monastic era.
The 105 rooms and suites are divided between The Monastery Wing, which was a 14th century convent and the Grand Hotel Wing, a liberty-style building which was added to the property in 1896.
Each of the rooms offers a unique element of heritage and design, celebrating the tradition and history behind the building, while delivering the very best in modern day comfort and service.
Guests can enjoy the hotel’s two Michelin-starred restaurant, named after the San Domenico’s founder, prince Giovanni Rosso di Cerami, which serves gourmet cuisine on the front terrace overlooking the Taormina bay and the hotel gardens.
