The latest changes to the Ryanair baggage have taken effect today, with confusion set to reign at airports across the country.
Passengers who now want to take anything more than a small bag on board must pay for the privilege.
It is the second time the low-cost carrier has changed its baggage policy this year as it seeks to boost revenue from auxiliary charges.
Only passengers paying £6 for priority boarding will be able to take a small suitcase of up to ten kilograms into the cabin.
To check in that same ten kilogram bag, passengers will be asked to pay £8.
When unveiling the new policy earlier this year, Ryanair said it was seeking to cut delays.
The airline hopes the policy will overcome a lack of overhead locker space on the Boeing 737.
Since January, Ryanair passengers have been allowed to take one small bag on board and one wheelie bag free of charge.
However, that often required up to 120 larger bags to be tagged at the gate and put in the hold, often delaying departures.
Larger checked-in luggage will still cost £25 per bag.
The small bag that non-priority passengers can take on board is now 40 per cent larger than previously allowed at 40x20x25cm.
