RwandAir is to increase flights between London Gatwick and Kigali for travel over the Christmas and New Year period due to extra demand from travellers seeking to
experience the beauty of Rwanda.
A fourth weekly flight is to be added to meet demand for those looking to escape the UK’s cold winter weather and experience Christmas and New Year in clean and green Rwanda between December 14th and January 11th next year.
The extra flights follow figures which show tourists travelling to Rwanda soared by a staggering 21 per cent between 2016 and 2017.
British travellers are among the top five nationalities to visit Rwanda.
Dennis Rwiliriza, UK RwandAir country manager, said: “With new hotels, restaurants and attractions, leisure travellers are exploring Rwanda in ever greater numbers so we are pleased to be able to offer even more seats and a greater choice of flights for our customers travelling to Kigali and beyond over the holiday season.
“RwandAir is the perfect way of travelling in style and comfort to the heart of Africa.
“Adding a fourth weekly flight on Fridays over the Christmas period to our existing three-times a week schedule will enable us to meet the growing interest from travellers to explore and experience the beauty of Rwanda’s natural wonders.”
RwandAir launched its direct flights between Rwanda and the UK in May 2017, heralding increased accessibility between the two countries.
The three weekly flights operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, with a fourth – on Fridays – to be added over Christmas and New Year.
