Renovation work has started on Lemala Wildwaters Lodge, situated on a private island on the River Nile in Uganda.
The lodge sustained flood damage to its restaurant and pool deck last year after the river rose following prolonged rainfall.
The restaurant and bar are being rebuilt, and the swimming pool and deck area are being relocated. The communal areas are also undergoing refurbishment.
The lodge is planning a new menu and new cocktails. The restaurant will continue to serve the ‘catch of the day’, often caught in the waters surrounding the island.
Reservations will open on February 15 for bookings from May.
