The Polana Serena Hotel in Maputo is set to launch Villa Mar, its new one- and two-bedroom private villas offering magnificent views of the Indian Ocean.
“The villas are impressively styled with natural colour palettes, detailed finishes and comfortable furniture,” says KarinSieberhagen, sales and marketing manager SA of Serena Hotels, Lodges and Resorts.
Complete privacy is the key component for the villas, making them ideal for business travellers on long stays and leisure travellers looking for a quiet getaway.
The layout includes an open-plan living and dining area connected to a kitchenette. The master bedrooms offer en-suite bathrooms and dressing rooms. The villas also have a patio that leads to outdoor shaded seating and dining areas, all with a secluded garden. Ample security and dedicated parking slots are available.
Guests can enjoy personalised round-the-clock attention during their stay, with services such as basic housekeeping, complimentary WiFi access, access to Maisha Health Club, concierge service and 24-hour room service.
Special Polana benefits incorporate a 15% discount on F&B (not applicable to banqueting events), 20% discount for buffet breakfast at Varanda, 15% discount on spa treatments and merchandise, 20% discount on laundry and dry-cleaning services as well as negotiated rates for catering services.
Sieberhagen says the hotel remains in great demand by guests, as do properties in Uganda and Tanzania (Dar es Salaam). In terms of interest in destinations from SA corporates for MICE events, this business usually goes to Mozambique and Rwanda.
The group does have a South African-based reservations office to book rooms, conferences and transfers (payment in rands).
The Nairobi Serena Hotel’s H&S Pan-Asian restaurant is now open and she also recommends its Mandhari fine-dining restaurant.
