A Namibian company, Paragon Investment Holdings, has extended its duty-free concession by five years at Hosea Kutako International Airport, Namibia. The company has also signed new contracts to operate the duty-free stores at Victoria Falls International Airport and Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport in Zimbabwe.
Paragon has committed to building state-of-the-art duty-free shops at what is Namibia’s busiest airport and the two busiest airports in Zimbabwe. The stores are expected to open in the second quarter of this year and will stock travel essentials, accessories, food, drink and gifts.
Paragon Executive Director of Business Development, Desmond Amunyela, said: “We are excited and pleased to have the opportunity to extend and expand our duty-free business to these international airports and on board airliners.” He said he was confident the new stores would attract a wide variety of both local and international customers.
“For us, southern and East Africa are very special regions for our medium-term expansion strategy. These regions have very strong passenger numbers with strong financial muscle.”
