Addo Wildlife, a new accommodation and wildlife offering, has opened near Addo Elephant National Park, in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape.
It is part of the Addo portfolio and can accommodate up to 12 people in three self-catering and two non-self-catering units. Additional facilities include a heated swimming pool and braai areas.
Game drives are also offered on a 400-hectare game farm about five kilometres from the property. The game farm also has a river frontage. “We’ve also got a walk-in aviary, snakes, crocodiles and a petting zoo area at a pond with farm animals,” said Jannie Gie, GM of Addo Wildlife. Gie adds that small game such as duiker and springbok can be found running in between the chalets.
A restaurant farmstall sells pottery, pillows, bottled juices, baked goods, and an assortment of locally made products are available from the farmstall.
From the end of October, Addo Wildlife will also offer an eco-tour that will incorporate a citrus tour, leading to the game farm followed by a walk along the river. Guests will learn about the animals and other rare plants found in the area.
“Addo Wildlife is a beautiful venue that offers activities for children, ideal for a one to five-night stay. We’ve got a lot to offer,” said Gie.
