Diving head first into the darkest, coldest and most miserable month of the year, while being expected to diet and detox too, why do we do it to ourselves?
This is the question that West End restaurant Heliot Steak House at The Hippodrome is asking its customers this January.
Bucking the trend for super food smoothies and kale chips, the team is taking on the doom and gloom of the coldest month in the calendar with a little bit of fun.
Throwing open its doors to those looking to party on through well into the New Year, they will be launching their new Covert Cocktail menu in January.
Made up of a selection of expertly-mixed winter warmer cocktails, each one will be served prohibition-style in a variety of hand-picked vintage teapots, removing any worry about raised eyebrows from the next table.
Created by in-house sommelier Salvatore Russo, the menu will heat up any chilly evening and includes indulgent delights such as the Riesling Hot Toddy, made by warming Riesling and steeping it with honey, lemon and cardamom, and Hot Buttered Rum, the ultimate combination of the rum, spices and butter and the antithesis of any January diet.
Each cocktail is priced at £7 and can be ordered at the bar to kick off of proceedings or as part of dinner, paired with the restaurant’s selection of 28-day aged USDA prime steaks.
Russo commented: “We love to have fun at Heliot Steak House and January is no exception.
“Whether it’s a weeknight dinner with colleagues or a weekend celebration with friends, we want to give our guests the best possible experience and leave them with a smile on their faces. What could be sillier than drinking cocktails from a teapot with their steak dinner?”
Heliot Steak House provides a unique dining experience in the heart of London, enjoying a rare view overlooking the most popular casino gaming floor in the country, and is a great a place to relax and enjoy a meal in a fun environment followed by a show in the 180-seat Cabaret theatre.
