Robin Pope Safaris will open Kuthengo Camp in Liwonde National Park, Malawi, on April 27.
The camp comprises four modern safari tents, two twins, one king and one family tent.
All tents are en-suite, with a double basin, bathtub, an outdoor shower and private deck. In addition each is fitted with an eco-friendly ‘Evening breeze’ air-conditioning system, designed to cool the air within the mosquito nets, and not the entire room.
The camp runs solely on solar power with a back-up generator. Tap water is filtered, but as it is not safe for drinking, bottled water is provided free of charge to all guests.
Activities include game drives, boating and walking safaris, and hiking.
The camp is a three- to four-hour road transfer from Lilongwe, or a one-hour flight followed by an hour’s drive through the park. From Blantyre, it is a two-and-a-half-hour drive to the camp.
