While South Africa pauses under lockdown, anti-poaching teams at Aquila Private Game Reserve and Spa and Inverdoorn Private Game Reserve have been hard at work.
At the reserves, both outside Cape Town and owned by the Aquila Collection, new life has been brought into the world!
Aquila’s anti-poaching units saw the birth of a baby hippo and the conservation teams at Inverdoorn spotted a baby giraffe and new-born buffalo.
To add to the joy, one of the dedicated members of the anti-poaching unit welcomed his own child into the world – witnessing the birth digitally as he was on duty in the veld.
“The management and fellow staff congratulate him and his wife on the birth of their child and cannot thank him enough for his dedicated service to the wellbeing and safety of our endangered species,” said a statement from the Aquila Collection.
All wildlife at the reserves are thriving and in good health, and the teams that are in lockdown on the properties are healthy and in good spirits.
