The Meliá Madrid Serrano has now opened, following the update of the former Meliá Galgos.
The property has been refurbished in line with Meliá Hotels & Resorts’ focus on wellbeing and Spanish hospitality.
It sits on a prime position in central Madrid and is close to transport links, as well as being located a few minutes’ walk from the main museums, Santiago Bernabeu stadium and the conference centre.
The hotel has been updated to feature a multifunctional lobby and covered terrace, decorated in neutral, contemporary tones.
The refurbishment also includes the new Arado restaurant, with cuisine that fuses authentic Spanish flavours with contemporary cooking techniques using fresh, local and seasonal produce.
The hotel’s rooms have been redesigned to create a more open space, featuring open wardrobes and large, walk-in showers. Unique touches have been added throughout, with organic bed linen and towels, a fitness ball to replace the traditional desk chair, and a mini bar filled exclusively with local, organic produce.
Meliá Madrid Serrano also has The Level: an exclusive upgrade option, offering a personalised service with a separate reception area and private terrace, located on the seventh floor, it affords unique views of the city of Madrid.
The Level also includes an executive lounge, where guests can enjoy food and drink throughout the day.
The hotel’s meeting facilities, which can accommodate up to 300 people, have been updated to include the latest technology, modern furniture and sustainable equipment.
Gabriel Escarrer, chief executive of Meliá Hotels International, said: “Refurbishing Meliá Madrid Serrano to match the new image and attributes of the Meliá brand was one of the priorities of our extensive refurbishment and rebranding plan in Spain, in which we have invested more than €500 million since 2011.”
