For the ease of Indian tourists, the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board has introduced a new Multiple Entry E-visa (MEV) scheme which will allow Indian national residing abroad (except Singapore) to spend up to 30 days in Malaysia per visit and valid for three months effective from August 2018 till July 31, 2018.
The visa fee will cost Rs 1000 and the applications will take 48 hours to process.
India ranks among the top six tourists generating market for Malaysia with a total of 638,578 Indian visitors recorded in 2016. The initiative comes on the part of Malaysian Government to motivate Indian tourists to visit Malaysia as a preferred tourist destination, eyeing on reaching a goal of 1 billion tourists by the end of 2017.
