Chakela Hotels & Resorts is expanding further into Africa after signing a partnership with Sunbird Hotels, Malawi.
Chakela specialises in marketing hotels and represents more than 120 graded accommodation establishments in Africa. It also offers members electronic distribution, allowing ease of booking for guests. The company, which partners with Sabre Hospitality Technology, is the largest global distribution system representation-company in southern Africa, with members in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Botswana, Kenya and Mozambique, amongst others.
Sunbird, Malawi’s largest hotel group – with eight properties including four city hotels, two resorts on Lake Malawi and two bush resorts – will now have distribution around the world and be able to offer guests seamless reservation services through Chakela’s platform, which allows hoteliers to personalise their guests’ experiences.
Chakela’s system includes a voice agent, inventory management applications, and channel management that delivers rates and availability to all major GDSs, tour operators and online travel agencies (such as booking.com, Expedia and HotelBeds) around the world. Chakela also offers partners consulting services for assessment and management of business problems to assist companies in optimising their reputation and revenue.
