To us, it’s your spirit of adventure that leads the way, not the distance you travel. We believe that every day can be a trip, whether you’re close to home or across the globe. And we’ve chosen a name we think is as simple – yet inspiring – as having experiences should be for all of us, every day.
Our goal has always been for you to do less work and have more fun. That’s why Trip.com goes beyond hotel booking to bring you everything you need to have an amazing time – in one place. We’re announcing a couple awesome new features to make your sailing even smoother.
Starting now, when you arrive in a new city, Trip.com will time suggestions perfectly to what you’re doing and where you are, right to your phone’s lock screen. Imagine arriving at your hotel at 7 p.m., tired and hungry, after a day of travel — and getting quick recommendations for nearby restaurants that fit your (Trendy, Budget) or (Luxury, Family) Tribe. Imagine waking up in need of some serious caffeine – and already knowing what the weather’s like and which coffee shops are best. That’s what the new Trip.com app will do for you.
It’s all about context when you’re on your laptop, too. Trip.com knows that price isn’t really enough to book a great hotel. The hotel should suit our style, be in the right neighborhood, near the sights we plan to see…and of course, be at the right price.
So today, Trip.com unveils our new map-based search. Browse available hotels near the attractions you want to see, filtered by your favorite Tribes. See all available hotels on a large map, filter by your favorite Tribes – and toggle to popular attractions so you always know how close you will be to spots you want to see. As always, compare the best prices from across the web.
Say you are planning a trip to New York, and want to stay near Times Square, just use ‘play’ to find Times Square on the map, and zoom in to see the best hotel deals nearby. Then use the maps to find great spots to eat and drink in stumbling distance of your hotel. Save them to your ‘List’ – and you’ve just planned yourself an awesome trip in moments. It’s everything you need in one place.
Here’s what else sets Trip.com apart:
- Tailored recommendations based on your style (imagine a list of trendy budget restaurants you prefer or activities that fit your family and adventure mindset
- Easy to use, interactive maps that show you just where to find cool stuff close by. Filter for restaurants, hotels or things to do with a touch.
- Everything in one place, from inspiration to booking to storytelling: browse hotels (or flights, or restaurants, or things to do), book them right on Trip.com, and share your experience via postcards with filters inspired by film styles.
We believe these tools will make it easier than ever to do less work and have more fun. It’s your life – and your trip. Can’t wait to meet you on the road.
