They are really magical. 5 stories high and manned by an army of talented technicians, Les Geants, the beautiful marionettes created by the Royal de Luxe theatre company from Nantes, France captivated Montreal the weekend of May 19 to 21, 2017 as part of the Montreal 375th Anniversary Celebrations.

I was fortunate to see the giants twice. On the Friday we saw the Little Girl walk by very close to us. On Sunday we were at la Place des Arts early so we could see from high up on the steps when both giants, the Deep Sea Diver and the Little Girl arrived for their “naps.” I am a big fan of Royal de Luxe now and hope to see a bigger show in the future by traveling to wherever they are. As for Montreal, I cannot recommend that city enough, especially between May and October. And particularly this year during the celebrations of its 375th Birthday. Don’t miss Avudo Montreal, a once-in-a-lifetime and free show created by Compagnia Finzi Pazca exclusively for Montreal 375.
