The Rubens at the Palace hotel, overlooking the Royal Mews of Buckingham Palace, has launched the Leopard Bar.
Serving over 200 whiskies and 30 Champagnes against a backdrop of live jazz music, the Leopard Bar will bring a new level of sophistication and elegance to Victoria’s nightlife scene.
It is the latest addition to Red Carnation’s portfolio of Leopard Bars & Lounges, which have become signature features of select properties around the world, each individually designed but sharing hallmarks such as a statement bronze leopard sculpture by South African artist and jeweller Donald Greig.
Complete with sumptuous brown leather deep-buttoned sofas, glass whiskey display cabinets and antique pinewood walls by English panelling specialists Hallidays, the interior offers a spacious yet intimate 35 seats, while outdoor seating provides a palace-side view on warm summer evenings.
In addition to the impressive selection of whiskies and Champagnes, all of which are available by the glass including Cristal and Krug Rosé, the Leopard Bar offers a range of enticing cocktails, from the classic champagne Bellini to the more adventurous Buddha Punch.
For those looking for an accompanying bite to eat, a selection of mouth-watering finger foods can be enjoyed, as well as some of Red Carnation president Beatrice Tollman’s much-loved recipes.
The new Leopard Bar further enhances the guest experience at The Rubens at the Palace and completes the spectacular multi-million-pound refurbishment of the property which has touched every room and public area.
Alongside the striking red New York Bar, the hotel’s elegant new fine dining restaurant The English Grill, and the recently opened Curry Room, The Leopard Bar is the final addition to The Rubens’ new and regal look.
“The launch of the Leopard Bar is the final reveal in our extensive and loving refurbishment of the Rubens,” said Rubens general manager Malcolm Hendry.
“The other Red Carnation Leopard Bars and Lounges worldwide have become vibrant destinations in their own right, and we are excited that this bar will bring a certain glamour and joie de vivre to the hotel and the wider area.”
The Leopard Bar at The Rubens is open Wednesday through Sunday, from 17:00 to midnight.
