This is a great tour you can do on your own, leaving Granada in the morning.
Thera are 2 ports on the share of Lake Nicaragua, which are good starting points for this tour. You can start from Cabaña Amarilla on the northern part of “las Isletas” or go further south until Puerto Asese in Petronic.
Boats are available to do tours through “las Isletas”- starting from the half an hour tour, one hour or doing the extended bird- watching tour.
From the boat you can admire the beauty of these small islands with their exuberant vegetation. A couple of rich Nicaraguan families have bought their own island, which are not available to visit.
In the lake there are around 365 small islands- one for each day of the year, as they say in Granada.
