Kapama, outside Hoedspruit in the Kruger National Park area, recently completed the construction of its own tarred 1.5km runway, to be used by its newly acquired and branded Pilatus PC12NG aircraft.
The aircraft, which can seat up to eight passengers, is a product of Pilatus, a Swiss aircraft manufacturer known for its reliable safety record and good quality aircraft.
Guests can fly from either Cape Town International Airport or OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg. Kapama has partnered with Fireblade Aviation so that guests will have access to the Fireblade Terminal services at OR Tambo, and Signature services in Cape Town.
Fireblade’s facilities include a gym, day rooms and boardrooms that guests can use while they wait for their flight to Kapama or upon their return. Similar facilities are available in Cape Town. The flight from Johannesburg is 50 minutes; and from Cape Town it will take you 2 hours, 45 minutes, to get to Kapama.
Bernard Roode, Managing Director at Kapama says: “Kapama has realised that the discerning traveller wants more choice, comfort and exclusivity when transferring between multiple destinations in South Africa.”
Roode goes on to say that this new option will provide guests with convenience and flexibility to customise their route, ensuring seamless and hassle-free travel to and from Kapama.
The new service is being offered as a package, including return flights between Kapama and either Cape Town or Johannesburg, three nights all-inclusive accommodation at Kapama Karula and guided game experiences. Stays can be extended on request. The fly-in option is available to all Kapama Lodges.
