Jag är väldigt ivrig. I am very excited (did Google get it right?).
In just about 1 month, I will be flying to Stockholm, Sweden, via Reykjavic with Icelandair. I have wanted to visit Stockholm for 10 or 15 years, but for one reason or another I hadn’t been able. TBEX changed that. As soon as I learned that TBEX, the huge travel bloggers conference, was going to be held in Stockholm, I registered and made the decision that I had to go. TBEX is a great way to do this because it’s hosted by VisitStockholm. What that means is that, not only I get to meet travel bloggers from around the world and learn how to get better as a travel blogger, but also get to meet some of the people whose job is to promote Stockholm as a tourist destination. And they will help me make the most of my time there. I will be in the Capital of Scandinavia for a full week.
To be clear, I am not just interested in Stockholm. I am very interested in Sweden as a whole. From what I have learned, Sweden and Canada are similar in many ways. And if you know me, you know I love Canada. I love countries who strive to create just societies with progressive policies appropriate for the 21st Century. While small (with an area of 450,000 sq. kms², it’s about half the size of Ontario and with 9.8 million people, it’s population is just a million more than the population in Quebec ), Sweden is a country that punches way above its weight in many areas, be it the environment, technology or creativity. The world can (and should) learn a thing or two from Sweden.
Stay tuned for lots of blogposts about Stockholm and about Sweden in the coming weeks.
Vi ses snart Stockholm
