Are you planning to go to Mallorca this year? This incredibly popular Spanish island is a great choice if you’re looking for somewhere that’s easy to get to from the UK but that also offers sunny weather and beautiful beaches.
For budget eats try dining at Cellar Sa Premsa, a majorcan restaurant serving traditional cuisine in a rustic atmosphere, with meal prices averaging around €3-€12. And if you feel like a cocktail afterwards, head over to Opio at Puro Hotel – a modern champagne bar with a candlelit courtyard and an Asian-fusion menu.
When it comes to activities, there are also plenty of free things you can do, like head to one of the island’s beaches and swim in the clear Mediterranean waters. Cala Mondrago is a small, unspoilt beach in one of Mallorca’s most beautiful national park areas, boasting sand dunes, pine forests, and rocky coves. Meanwhile if you fancy a bit of culture then La Seu Cathedral, Castell de Belver and the historic town of Alcudia are all completely free to walk around.
Luckily getting around is really quite affordable, with bus fares costing around €1.50 for a single journey. And if you want to get to those hard to reach places, a car rental should start from €3 per day, although it might be worth opting for a car that operates on Diesel as petrol is a little more expensive.
