Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London has announced an exclusive collaboration with British couture milliner Emily Baxendale, to create the first ‘Hats Off’ collection of fashionable hats and specialised headpieces, inspired by the hotel’s history and oriental influences.
Additionally, executive chef pâtissière Heather Kaniuk has worked on tea cakes to complement each design. A raspberry rose lychee gateau to reference the Royal Gate entrance, a gooseberry, mascarpone and lime tart in honour of The Rosebery Lounge, and a nectarine raspberry frangipane cake inspired by the Royal Guards, will be some of the sweet treats served during Hats Off Afternoon Tea.
Guests booking this limited-edition themed afternoon tea will be able to admire the bespoke collection, as well as be treated to a private consultation with milliner Emily Baxendale, and receive 10 per cent discount on all of her handcrafted designs. Hats Off Afternoon Tea will be served from May 24 to July 27, 2016.
