Globus is gearing up to restart group tours for the first time since the March outbreak of Covid-19.
Globus chief marketing officer Steve Born said the company plans to launch its Canadian Rockies Escape for Canadian guests on Oct. 17, followed by its first U.S. trip on Nov. 1 for American travelers.
The seven-day Canyonlands Escape starts and ends in Las Vegas and goes to the Grand Canyon, Bruce Canyon and Moab, Utah.
Currently, 38 guests are booked on the U.S. trip, many of whom Born said “had booked previous to all this and stuck to it. So we are proud that we are going to be able to get out there.”
He said the tour will operate with two vehicles and under the company’s new health and safety protocols, which will include predeparture health screenings, enhanced cleaning protocols and the requirement that guests wear masks whenever social distancing isn’t possible.
As of Monday, there were just two seats left on the Nov. 1 departure, but there was still availability on other November departures, Born said.
For 2020, the latest departure for the Canyonlands Escape is Nov. 29, but departures are set to resume again in February and March.
