Additionally, this year BLTM (Business & Luxury Travel Mart), India’s first of a kind full-fledged travel mart focused on specialised Sellers and Buyers from Business, MICE and Luxury Travel segment from all over the world will mark its debut in Mumbai. For the first time, OTM 2017 will be co-located with BLTM Mumbai, hosting additional 300 buyers from Business, Luxury, MICE Travel and Corporate Organisations. The hosted buyers will have online diaries for scheduling appointments with sellers at the OTM and BLTM. This presents a completely innovative platform for travel marketers around the world.
Mumbai is the biggest source market for the outbound and the domestic tourists in India. Together with its hinterland markets in the West & South India, it commands over 50% of the total outbound pie. OTM is the most effective platform to market to the Indian travel industry catering to over 20 million outbound travellers spending over US$ 10 billion and growing over 10% per year.
Recent data has shown that the number of Indian outbound travellers will grow to approximately 50 million in 2020 while international tourism expenditure by Indians to be around $28 billion in the near future. Also, foreign tourist arrivals in India are expected to reach 15.3 million by 2025, according to the World Tourism Organisation.
OTM is one of the best platforms for travel markets to exhibit their services thus acquiring proper visibility and brand image. It is the best stage for a travel marketer targeting the Indian travel industry catering to over 20 million outbound travellers. Also, OTM hosts multiple innovative events such as TechForum@OTM, #StartupKnockDown etc, which will again be conducted this year.
On the other hand, BLTM, which unlike other tabletop show, acts as an equally exceptional stage, providing destination sellers and travel service providers a business platform to meet hundreds of corporate MNC buyers plus many qualified meeting planners and incentive travel planners hosted from other major Indian cities. While this will be the second edition of BLTM, OTM on the other hand, has quite a bit of history. Regardless both the shows have garnered a huge response in the past.
The three day OTM 2016 saw over a thousand sellers from 50 different participating destinations meeting over 6000 buyers on the exhibition floor. Furthermore, there was a host of exciting events. Several global destinations at OTM 2016 participated with the keenness to carve a piece of India’s projected 50 million outbound pie– UAE, Indonesia, Turkey, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Thailand, New Zealand, China, Japan, Hong Kong, Macao, Bangladesh, Philippines, Maldives, Oman, Egypt, Seychelles, Israel, Rwanda, Romania, Fiji and Greece were all under one roof. In addition for the very first time in trade show history, the United Arab Emirates led their participation with all its seven emirates– Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras Al-Khaimah, Sharjah and Umm Al-Quwain– making them the largest destination exhibitor at the OTM.
BLTM being the first of its kind set a new milestone for MICE-focused travel shows in India. BLTM was well received as India’s first full-fledged travel mart focused on specialised Business, MICE and Luxury Travel Sellers from all over the world. In the two-day trade event, more than 150 Seller delegates from 50 exhibiting booths and destination pavilions met with over 150 Buyers on the exhibition floor. Global destination representation included Nepal, Taiwan, Korea, China, Fiji, Dubai, South Africa, Liberia, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom and Russia alongside premium hotel chains such as FRHI Hotels & Resorts showcasing Fairmont, Raffles and Swissotel, Royal Orchid Hotels, InterContinental Hotels Group and Hyatt Hotels etc.
After receiving an overwhelming response from buyers and sellers, both the shows are gearing for another year of travel tourism extravaganza. OTM and BLTM are brought to you by Fairfest Media Ltd, India’s oldest and the leading travel trade show organisers since 1989.
