Dubai Parks & Resorts, the Middle East’s largest integrated theme park destination, has announced that it attracted almost 2.8 million visitors during 2018, an increase of 22 per cent compared to 2017.
In quarter four of 2018, Dubai Parks & Resorts recorded over 819,000 visits, compared to 796,000 year on year.
The last quarter of the year benefitted from winter seasonality, with Halloween and half term and the winter school break and holidays boosting visitor numbers.
During the quarter, Dubai Parks & Resorts treated visitors to special shows and promotions to celebrate the festive break.
The Lapita Hotel average occupancy rose to 60 per cent in 2018, showing significant improvement compared to 35 per cent occupancy reported in 2017 with occupancy peaking close to 100 per cent on various dates in December and an average 63 per cent in the final quarter.

“Last year delivered a 22 per cent increase in visits compared to the previous year with 40 per cent of overall footfall from international tourists.
“Lapita Hotel average occupancy has seen significant growth this year reaching 60 per cent, compared to 35 per cent last year, positioning itself as an attractive and unique family holiday resort in the UAE and the region.”
