Through an alliance with the Theart family in Namibia, Bon Hotels will expand its footprint across the country.
BON Hotel Ngandu Rundu in the north-east of the country launched on July 1. The location overlooks the Kavango River’s southern wetlands and riverine forest. The building was originally constructed on the ruins of an old military base used during Namibia’s war of independence.
The property offers guest rooms, family units and campsites. Leisure tourists and conference delegates are attracted to the area for game-viewing and cruises down the Kunene River. The hotel also offers facilities for local businesses, such as four conference halls and a restaurant.
The Ngandu at Sea in Walvis Bay, run until recently by Oswald and Carry Theart, will also be managed by BON Hotels from July 1 and will shortly undergo extensive refurbishment.
BON Hotels is a South African-based hotel company that manages, owns and leases hotels, lodges and resorts throughout Southern Africa, as well as West and East Africa.
