Avalon Waterways is adding a third Suite Ship, the Avalon Saigon, to its Southeast Asia fleet in 2018.
The Saigon will sail the Mekong River along with the Avalon Siem Reap. The Avalon Myanmar sails Myanmar’s Irrawaddy River.
Like the two existing Suite Ships in Southeast Asia, the Avalon Saigon will be a 36-passenger vessel with 18 Avalon-style suites featuring open-air balconies — floor-to-ceiling and wall-to-wall sliding glass doors that open to transform into a large French balcony. Adjacent to the balcony is a private sitting area, complete with love seat, chairs and table.
Avalon has added a new Vietnam and Cambodia itinerary to its roster, “The Heart of Cambodia & Vietnam,” an 18-day trip that includes a cruise along the Mekong followed by a two-day cruise in Ha Long Bay.
Avalon launched the Siem Reap and the Myanmar in 2015.
