Air Tanzania will resume its Mumbai service from November 9.
According to the airline’s Head Corporate Communication and Public Relations, Josephat Kagirwa, the flights will operate on Mondays and Fridays, returning from Mumbai on Tuesdays and Saturdays. A B787-8 Dreamliner will be used on route.
Kagirwa added that the airline had recently resumed a number of regional flights from Dar es Salaam, including Entebbe, Harare and Lusaka.
Air Tanzania suspended flights on March 25 owing to rapid spread of COVID-19 across the world.
The government of Tanzania recently signed a bilateral air ‘travel bubble’ with India for resumption of flights to and from India.
The move is expected to boost tourism in the East African country.
