St. Regis Hotels & Resorts has broken ground on the St. Regis Cap Cana Resort & Residences, the luxury flag’s first property in the Dominican Republic.
Scheduled to open in 2023, the resort will be located within the private gated community of Cap Cana and will feature 200 guestrooms and suites, as well as 67 residences.
The property will draw architectural inspiration from Cap Cana’s Jack Nicklaus-designed Punta Espada golf course, located adjacent to the resort. According to St. Regis, the hotel and residences will be “integrated into the environment as if they were a natural component of the course.”
In a statement, Matt Knights, area general manager for Marriott International, called Cap Cana “one of the world’s most exclusive resort destinations and a perfect fit for the iconic St. Regis brand and its guests.”
The Cap Cana complex is home to several upmarket resorts, including the Hyatt Ziva and Zilara Cap Cana, Secrets Cap Cana Resort & Spa, Sanctuary Cap Cana, Eden Roc Cap Cana and TRS Cap Cana.
