Air Namibia has suspended all domestic flights at midnight on Wednesday after the country reverted to Alert Level Three lockdown, following a rise in COVID-19 cases. Domestic flights will resume on August 30.
The airline has also extended the suspension of its regional flights to September 20 and the resumption of its Frankfurt service to September 30, depending on the reopening of international borders.
Air Namibia has introduced flexible rebooking options for passengers who need to change their travel dates. For domestic flights, all tickets purchased on or before August 12 will be offered one free change to a new travel date, with no restrictions on when travel has to take place, confirmed spokesperson, Twakulilwa Kayofa.
Travel agents and customers can change their bookings online or email Air Namibia at CallCentre@airnamibia.aero.
Namibia currently has 3 406 COVID-19 cases and 22 deaths. It took four months for the country to get to 1 000 cases, 14 days to reach 2 000 and 11 days to reach 3 000, President Hage Geingob told a Windhoek media briefing on Wednesday.
