Dear Ms. Jordan: You are not alone! When my hubby and I travel to Mexico (Or Any Spanish-Speaking) Country we are often treated different. People assume we are “Locals” and we notice white Americans get
better treatment than we do! So we’ve learned to Speak English Only while traveling to Spanish-Speaking Countries. But we are both Americans, too, so I know how you feel concerning the experiences you’ve had in some countries……

Thank you for sharing your experiences. The world we live in is not fair, and only by bringing these experiences to light can it be changed.

    1. Margie Jordan says:

Thanks so much Alan. I’m hopeful that we can begin the conversations necessary to create the change we need.

I felt every word of this article in my spirit. I am a travel professional with fourteen years of experience in the industry and Im a travel influencer. There is a lack of diversity in the travel industry for a long time that has gone uncorrected for years.

So true Shay! Thank you for sharing and for your voice out there.

    1. Margie Jordan says:

      Thank you Kier!
