Swiss travellers stuck in South Africa will soon be going home, with repatriation flights set to commence on April 3 from Cape Town.
SATSA shared a message from the Consulate General of Switzerland, saying the flights to Zürich would depart Cape Town at 19h30.
A registration link on the Consulate General of Switzerland website is available to all Swiss travellers to register for their flights. The number of seats are limited, with a ‘first come, first served’ rule applied. Registration closes on April 1 at 12h00 SA time.
Swiss visitors in SA, who have already contacted the Consulate General of Switzerland or the Embassy in Pretoria and have requested to return home, are urged to register again. The flight is payable by customers and normal market rates apply. Passengers will not have to pay upfront (before boarding the aircraft) and will be invoiced later.
The Edelweiss Air flight of March 30 from Cape Town to Zürich was cancelled and ticket holders will have to contact the airline or their travel agent about the possibility of reimbursement.
