American Airlines will launch a new daily flight between London Heathrow and Miami International Airport in October.
At the same time, joint business partner British Airways is increasing its flight schedule from London to American’s 400-flight-a-day hub in Philadelphia.
“This will be American’s biggest year yet at Heathrow with an additional flight to Miami and new year-round service to Phoenix,” said Rhett Workman, managing director of London Heathrow for American Airlines.
“We’re not only giving customers in the UK increased access to the warm winter sun destinations they want, but also working with our partner British Airways to better meet the demand for premium seats in important markets and connecting hubs like Philadelphia.”
American’s new Heathrow-Miami flight offers fully lie flat, aisle accessible flagship business seats which include access to the flagship lounge in Miami and arrivals lounge at Heathrow.
American’s Miami hub serves as the airline’s gateway to the Caribbean, Mexico and Latin America, where the airline is the leading carrier.
American operates nearly 350 daily to 130 destinations in 43 countries and territories from Miami.
To Philadelphia, British Airways will operate three additional flights per week offering customers more chances to experience its service on board.
American and British Airways will provide up to 190 lie-flat first and business class seats each day this winter from Heathrow to Philadelphia, paired with a robust schedule to provide flexibility and choice for customers.
