JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong has announced the appointment of Silvio Rosenberger as its new general manager.
He takes over the leadership of the flagship hotel under the JW Marriott brand in Asia Pacific.
Rosenberger is responsible for the overall strategic direction, operational activities and guest services of the hotel, as well as leading a team of 750 associates.
A German native, he is a general manager with extensive experience in the hospitality industry.
He joins from JW Marriott Hotel Shanghai Tomorrow Square, where he has been general manager since 2012, and area general manager for the past two years.
He has been with Marriott for over 25 years, managing several hotels in Shanghai and Shenzhen, including Renaissance Shanghai Pudong Hotel, Courtyard by Marriott Shanghai Xujiahui, Renaissance Yangtze Shanghai Hotel and Renaissance Shanghai Zhongshan Park Hotel.
He was also the chairman of the East China Business Council between 2011 and 2017.
He began his hospitality career in his native Germany, starting with front office and accounting before moving up the ranks to become the director of finance at the Munich Marriott Hotel.
