Marriott International has revealed the return of its flagship brand, Marriott Hotels, to Greece’s capital.
Located just minutes from the Acropolis and opposite Stavros Niarchos Park, the Opera House and the National Library, Athens Marriott Hotel is ideally positioned downtown between the Port of Piraeus and the city centre.
“With the opening of the Athens Marriott Hotel we are thrilled to debut Marriott Hotels’ redesigned aesthetic in the vibrant city of Athens,” said John Licence, vice president, premium and select brands Europe, Marriott International.
“This hotel signals the momentum and evolution of Marriott Hotels’ transformation as it continues to elevate experiences all around the world, through contemporary design, stylish public spaces and intuitive technology.”
Athens Marriott Hotel features 366 spacious rooms and suites, with sweeping views of the National Opera House and the Aegean Sea, with some rooms offering private terraces overlooking the Acropolis.
The sophisticated interior design of the lobby, reception and meeting rooms by Wimberly Interiors London fuels the imagination, blending deep blue and gold colours, inspired by the nearby port and ancient Greek jewellery.
The décor evokes a contemporary interpretation of classic Greek architecture and rich cultural heritage.
The culinary highlight of the hotel is the Made in Athens restaurant.
Inspired by Athenian marketplaces, the welcoming space creates an interactive experience of discovery.
The restaurant has an open kitchen where chefs prepare breakfast and bake traditional bread throughout the day in the wood-fired oven.
In addition to the panoramic views, gastronomic delights and refined interiors, the hotel is the ideal venue for a memorable event, with eight versatile meeting rooms featuring high-tech facilities, and total event space of 1,067 square metres.
After a busy day, guests can unwind and feel invigorated in the outdoor pool and well-equipped fitness centre.
