Aquila Private Game Reserve and Spa has acquired Inverdoorn Private Game Reserve in the Western Cape. Both reserves will continue to function as normal.
Inverdoorn, founded in 1994, offers visitors the Big Five on 10 000 hectares of Karoo landscape. Most recently, Inverdoorn added the five-star Kuganha luxury tented camp. Immediate upgrades will include new and renovated dining facilities.
Despite the reserves being only 25 minutes from each other, Searl Dorman, owner of The Aquila Collection says they offer very different safari experiences. Aquila is mountainous with deep valleys and vistas.
“Both reserves have a great variety of Big Five and wildlife, which, within the next month will be further reinforced with new genetics, numbers and species.”
From an operational point of view, Dorman says: “By combining the sales and marketing offices, the group will be able to streamline the promotion of Big Five safari tourism in Cape Town and the Western Cape.”
Previous owner of Inverdoorn, Damian Vergnaud is confident of the move and Aquila’s reputation and says staff, land and wildlife are in safe and responsible hands.
