Celebrity Cruises will spend $500 million harmonizing the design of its existing ships with the new Celebrity Edge.
The ships will get a remake that adopts the Edge color scheme, which is largely gray, white and silver with blue accents.
The Reflection and Signature suites on the Celebrity Reflection will be retrofitted to the other four ships in the Solstice class by designer Kelly Hoppen.
The Retreat Sundeck and Retreat Lounge created for the Edge will be added to the rest of the ships, with the existing Michael’s Club for suite guests becoming the Retreat Lounge.
Staterooms on the Millennium class ships and staterooms and many suites on Solstice class ships will be redesigned by hospitality design firm Hirsch Bedner Associates.
The restaurant Qsine will go fleetwide and feature Le Petit Chef animated table experience. The Oceanview Cafe and main dining room will be redesigned.
In the spa, the Sea Thermal Suite will be added to existing ships, along with new retailers such as Shinola and Hublot. The Passport Bar and Celebrity’s Gastrobar will be featured in the redevelopment program, and public areas such as The Hideaway, Team Earth and the Library will also get upgrades.
The improvements start with a drydock of the Celebrity Millennium in 2019 and will continue through 2023.
