Fancourt Hotel and Estate, situated on the Garden Route in George, Western Cape, will be undergoing a series of upgrades over the next few months.
The Spa at Fancourt will see facilities such as the Roman bath, steam room, sauna and tepidarium close from July 16 to August 10, as retiling of the floor will be carried out during this period. Guests can still make use of the indoor heated pool at the Sports and Leisure Centre over this time. Suites in the Manor House will be used as treatment rooms for guests to continue enjoying various spa treatments.
The Ladies Boutique, adjacent to the Spa will be closing over the same period for shopfitting, in order to improve the flow and guest experience within the boutique.
The Manor House and Henry Whites will close from June 1 to June 30. Re-carpeting of the Manor House passages and some soft refurbishment work in the main areas will take place, while Henry Whites’ floors will be redone.
As of May 28, the outdoor pool will be closed for resurfacing. The pool is expected to reopen on June 10.
The indoor heated pool will be closed from October 22 until November 11, while resurfacing takes place and new drainage systems around the pool edge are added. The outdoor pool will be open and available for guests to use during this time.
The Reservations Office will be relocating, between June 22 until July 22, to the conference centre, to make way for the renovations. This building is a heritage building and was used as the old horse stables on the original farm. Upkeep of this roof is required and the current shingles (roof tiles) will be replaced over this period.
The Ladies Hair Salon closed on April 27 and reopened mid-May. Shopfitting and updating of the salon took place over this time.
There will be minimal disruption to guests over this period.
